The Safety Director, or Child Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA), is an asset and integral member to every region and is responsible for all areas of the region's safety. The Safety Director ensures the safety of the participants of our region by inspecting the field equipment, goal posts, and fields to ensure they are in safe condition, makes sure there are a reasonable number of first-aid kits available at the fields and implements the policies and procedures of AYSO with regard to safety, insurace, claims etc.

Please find below the information you will need if there any incidents or injuries and what constitutes an incident as well as guidelines in how to proceed.
1. Injury Reporting
In the event of an injury or accident to a player, coach, referee, spectator, or other registered volunteer before, during, or after a scheduled AYSO function, complete and submit an Accident Report Form to the Region 127 Safety Director.

2. Serious Incident Reporting
Please report any Serious Incident by completing a Serious Incident Report to the Region 127 Safety Director. Examples of "Serious Incidents" include: (1) fighting between players, coaches, referees or spectators, (2) verbal threats to referees, and/or (3) when law enforcement is called to preserve or restore order at a soccer game.

3. Soccer Accident Insurance (SAI)
Players, coaches, referees and other volunteers are only insured when registered with the national office (note: this is a supplementary insurance only, with a $200 deductible). An AYSO SAI Claim Form (with instructions) may be obtained from the Regional Safety Director or the Commissioner and a claim must be made within 90 days of the date of injury.
